Staff & Apprentices

Willie has been minister of St George’s-Tron since August 2004. He moved from London, where for 5 years he was Director of Ministry with The Proclamation Trust, working with ministers, teaching those training for ministry in the Cornhill Training Course, and overseeing a varied programme of conferences. Before that he served in ministry positions in Aberdeen, where prior to ordination, he studied medicine at Aberdeen University, and trained in cardiology at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

He is married to Rebecca, and they have two daughters.

Edward joined St George’s-Tron in 2005 when he took up his full-time position as Director of the Cornhill Training Course in Scotland. He serves as an honorary Associate Minister, sharing in preaching and teaching within the congregation. Edward was formerly vicar of St Peter’s Church, Stapenhill in Derbyshire.

He is married to Catherine, and they have 4 children.

Bob joined the preaching team at SGT in 2007 when he moved from Edinburgh to work alongside Edward full-time as Senior Tutor in Ministry on the Cornhill Training Course in Scotland. He was appointed as honorary Associate Minister in the church, and welcomed into Glasgow Presbytery. Bob was formerly Director of Rutherford House in Edinburgh, where he moved after many years ministering in Durham in a dual role of Lecturing in Old Testament at Cranmer Hall and pastoring Claypath Church (now Christ Church), a flourishing student ministry.

He is married to Thelma, and they have 2 children

Before joining us, Andy studied at St Andrews University and then completed UCCF’s Relay programme in Aberdeen.

Billy has looked after the fabric of the buildings since 1976 and is responsible for the day to day cleanliness and presentation of them. If you want to know anything about the buildings, Billy is the man to ask!

He is married to Anne and has two sons.

Agnes studied law at Cambridge and worked in the Lord Chancellor’s Department for 8 years. Then she trained as a teacher and taught in a London primary school. She completed a year on the Cornhill Training Course in London and then moved back north to join the Epaphras Trust in 2003. Agnes ministers particularly among women and young people.

Phil worked in social care in Glasgow for a number of years before joining our ministry apprenticeship scheme. He’s also got a reputation as a legendary guitarist! Phil is married to Emma.

After working for Ernst & Young for nearly 30 years, Alison became our church administrator in 2000. For many years prior to this she taught a whole generation of children who came through her Sunday School class. Alison is the face behind info@thetron.org and an ever-ready fount of wisdom and knowledge about church life.

Richard studied at Strathclyde University and worked in business in Glasgow for 19 years. Thereafter he studied on the Cornhill Training Course and joined the church team in 2008. Richard is also our Session Clerk.

Rupert trained in Glasgow to become a vet and worked in the States and England, before returning to mixed practice in Glasgow. After completing the Cornhill Training Course and a two year ministry apprenticeship in the Church, he joined the staff team in 2011. Rupert co-leads Release the Word, and is responsible for our male students and young workers. He is also enrolled on Cornhill’s three year Pastor Training Course.

He is married to Jen, and they have one daughter.

Jen Keogh joined our apprentice scheme in September 2011 after studying in London and graduating with a degree in English literature. Although from Glasgow originally, she lived in London for most of her life so is delighted to be back in her native city!

Terry was an apprentice at the church from 2007-2009 and after completing the Cornhill Training Course, he joined the staff part-time and launched a new ministry called Road to Recovery working with those with chemical dependence issues. Prior to his apprenticeship, Terry worked with a Glasgow based charity which supported and counselled those in alcohol and drug addiction and also the homeless. Whilst doing this, he gained his social care qualifications. He is also continuing his ministry training at the Cornhill Pastor Training Course

Terry is married to Charlene.

Emma graduated from Strathclyde University and assists Alison in the Church Office. Emma is married to Phil.

Jonnie Miscampbell graduated from Strathclyde University with a degree in Accounting and joined our apprenticeship programme in September 2011.

Katie joined the team in 2010 after being an apprentice for two years in the church and also completing the Cornhill Training Course in Scotland. Before this she studied in Aberdeen, worked abroad and then became a Modern Studies teacher in Glasgow. Katie mainly works with female students as well as women of all ages and teaches English as part of our internationals ministry.

Andrew Rooney studied Genetics at Glasgow University and became one of our ministry apprentices in September 2011.

After leaving university, Oli worked in the financial services industry for a number of years. He is currently one of our church apprentices & as well as doing the Cornhill course & working in the Tron, he is attached to Trinity Possil Henry Drummond Church of Scotland in Possilpark where he is gaining very valuable experience.

He is married to Susan & they have three young children.
